Welcome to NORTHFORK FARM-CSA COUNTRY CLUB

Coming in May of 2024, Northfork Farm, in northern Tuscaloosa County, is offering a community supported agriculture (CSA) Country Club membership! As we grow, more information and options will be available on the website. Members of the CSA do not buy shares up front like traditional CSAs, in which case everyone shares in the risk of crop failure, drought, etc. Due to deer pressure and other risks of farming, this CSA does not sell shares upfront. Primitive campsites are available for those wanting to escape the daily grind to get a bit of country peace and quiet. NO ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE.

Our History

Northfork Farm is an 18-acre farm in northern Tuscaloosa County off Bull Slough Road on Lake Tuscaloosa. Owned and operated by James “Wood” Wilson, the multi-generational farm has been in his family for over 100 years. Originally part of the 3,000-acre John Welch Prewitt Plantation during the 19th century, descendants of the enslaved workers acquired most of the Prewitt land. The historic Prewitt Slave Cemetery, located on Old Byler Road near the farm, is a significant historic resource for the region and state. Accessible to visitors, ask us more about the cemetery and the surrounding area’s rich history.

Wilson’s father and grandfather acquired the acreage on which Wilson and many generations of descendants grew up, worked, played and served as stewards to the land.

We are a working farm and ranch, and while we do ask for your care while here, we also encourage you to take advantage of the beauty and serenity that our property has to offer!
